A consortium consisting of the Australian Institute of Marine Science (AIMS), CSIRO, University of Queensland, Queensland University of Technology, James Cook University, Southern Cross University, and the Great Barrier Reef Foundation will work closely with the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority. An initial $150 million will be invested in this new phase in an effort to restore the Reef in the face of rising ocean temperatures and coral bleaching.
